Hi, I’m Leslie Miller

Welcome to my studio…

I discovered Pilates quite accidentally many years ago while teaching high-impact fitness classes in a NYC gym. I stood outside the studio while the class before mine was being held. I was fascinated while I watched the exercises being carefully cued and instructed with a focus on precision, controlled movement patterns and great sensitivity to the body. I instictively knew that I was missing out on something important while continuing to engage in workouts that were punishing on my joints and physically exhausting in the name of fitness.

I believe that workouts can be both challenging and restorative. I love to draw from all of my training to give you the best results for your personal goals for wellbeing and fitness. I specialize in postural and pelvic floor issues and those clients healing from breast cancer.

Over the years I have become more aware of the way stress, injury and trauma are stored in the body. In my previous work as a trauma therapist, I have extensively studied the work of Bessel van der Kolk and later became certified in somatic yoga and trauma-informed movement.

Pilates and mindful movement can be enormously beneficial to help calm the nervous syste. I’ve discovered firsthand that the mental health benefits that you get from Pilates are as signficant as the physical benefits.

My style is nurturing and supportive and if you visit me at my home studio you will likely be working out next to Bailey (pictured above). He provides wonderful emotional support for your goals.

My Training:

I hold an MSW from Fordham University with a specialization in trauma. I completed my comprehensive Pilates training under the tutalage of Pamela Garcia, a senior master trainer and second- generation classical instructor with Peak Pilates. Additionally, I am certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Personal Trainer.

I completed various mindbody certifications to include Yoga RYT-200/trauma-informed and somatic healing through My Vinyasa Practice with Michelle Young.
